If you visit Gyeongbokgung Palace, you’ll probably notice something right away.
A lot of travelers are walking around in colorful hanbok. 👘
And if you’re visiting Korea for the first time, you might wonder:
Where is everyone renting them?
The good news is that it’s very easy.
Hanbok Rental Near Gyeongbokgung
There are many hanbok rental shops around Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Usually, you choose the style you like, get dressed at the shop, and then walk straight to the palace.
Most shops have different colors and styles, so you can choose something simple or go for a more traditional look.
You don’t need to bring anything special with you.
One Nice Bonus: Free Palace Entry
If you enter Gyeongbokgung wearing a proper hanbok, palace admission is free.
Both traditional and modernized hanbok are accepted, but you need to wear both the proper upper and lower garments.
For reference, regular adult admission to Gyeongbokgung is currently ₩3,000.
How Long Should You Allow?
I’d give yourself around 2–3 hours for the whole experience.
That gives you enough time to choose your hanbok, get dressed, walk around the palace, and take photos without rushing.
One thing to remember: Gyeongbokgung is normally closed on Tuesdays.
