How to Use Seoul Station City Airport Terminal: Check In & Drop Your Bags Before Incheon Airport

The Seoul Station City Airport Terminal provides three useful services.



1. Airline Check-In

You can check in for your flight and receive your boarding pass before going to Incheon Airport.

2. Drop Off Your Checked Baggage

You can drop off your checked baggage at Seoul Station.

Once your baggage has been accepted, it will be transferred to your flight, so you do not have to carry a large suitcase with you on the AREX Express Train.

3. Complete Departure Immigration

You can also complete departure immigration at Seoul Station.

After completing both check-in and departure immigration, you can use the dedicated departure lane for City Airport Terminal passengers when you arrive at Incheon Airport.


How to Use the Seoul Station City Airport Terminal

Step 1. Buy an AREX Express Train Ticket

The Seoul Station City Airport Terminal is available only to passengers using the AREX Express Train.

Step 2. Go to B2 of Seoul Station

Go to the Airport Railroad area on B2 of Seoul Station.

Have your passport, flight information, and AREX Express Train ticket ready.

Step 3. Check In and Drop Off Your Baggage

Go to your airline counter.

Complete airline check-in and drop off your checked baggage.

Step 4. Complete Departure Immigration

After completing airline check-in, complete departure immigration at the Seoul Station City Airport Terminal.

Step 5. Take the AREX Express Train

Then head to the AREX Express Train platform and travel to Incheon Airport without having to drag your checked luggage with you.


Which Airlines Can Use the Service?

Only passengers flying with participating airlines can be processed at the Seoul Station City Airport Terminal.

Eligibility may vary depending on the route or codeshare flight, so do not assume that every flight operated by a participating airline is automatically eligible.

Operating Hours

As of September 2026:

Airline check-in and baggage drop:
5:20 AM – 7:00 PM

Departure immigration:
5:30 AM – 7:00 PM

There are also important flight check-in deadlines.

For flights departing from:

  • Terminal 1: Check-in closes 3 hours before departure.
  • Terminal 2: Check-in closes 3 hours 20 minutes before departure.

So even if the counter is still open, you will not be able to use the service if you arrive too close to your flight’s departure time.


What Happens at Incheon Airport?

If you have completed both check-in and departure immigration at Seoul Station, you do not need to go through the normal airline check-in process again.

At Incheon Airport, follow the signs for the dedicated departure lane for City Airport Terminal passengers.

You will still need to complete the required security screening before entering the departure area.

This service is available for same-day international flights departing from Incheon Airport.

Special baggage, such as oversized luggage, sports equipment, musical instruments, or other restricted items, may need to be handled directly at the airport.
